Pilate, the Roman Governor, was a ruthless (bloody) and tyrannical man who ruled with an iron fist. Forewarned by his wife in a terrifying dream about Jesus, Pilate interrogated Jesus, asking Him ‘What is Truth!”? Jesus Himself said prior in John 14, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me!” Only Christianity reveals a God who humbled Himself, became a man, born of a virgin and is perfect, without sin! took our place and paid for our sins, crushed Satan and burst through the gates of Hell triumphantly giving the repentant and redeemed the gift of eternal Life! No other religion or god can save us! Pilate found NO Fault in Jesus and tried to set Him free at least 3 times! Knowing the Jews were envious of Jesus and yet threatened by them that they would tell Caesar, He agreed to crucifying Jesus! But washing his hands as if to say it was not his desire. How can you knowingly execute an innocent man and still think you can escape judgment? He even posted over Jesus’ cross, Jesus of Nazareth, king of the Jews!
