is it understandable that the people expected a different kind of King? “We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever"

Towards the end of the text the warning is given to you and I: John 12:48 "The one who rejects Me and does not accept My teachings has one who judges him: the word which I spoke. That will judge him on the last day.". will you reject the rightful ruler of your heart or surrender to His supremacy?!!
